Situated in the new ‘Sun Valley Development Zone’, Guiyang, Guizhou Province, P.R.China, The China Railway Group subsidiary China Railway Engineering Corporation (CREC), the largest contractor in the world, plan to develop the Sun Valley International Hospital. Designated a ‘National Demonstration Project’ by the Chinese central government for its aim of providing truly integrated healthcare and leading design, equipment and technology, the project comprises new build construction of a 200 bed international standard private hospital and construction of 200,000m2 of supporting residential buildings primarily focused on the elderly and elderly care. 

The hospital is targeted at high end clientele in an attempt to capture a portion of the 300,000 Chinese ‘medical tourists’ that annually head overseas for treatment. The project is a small part of a much wider 20sqkm CREC International Eco-City development project which itself forms one part of Sun Valley (550 hectare development), with Sun Valley being just one of three valleys under development in the area. With completion of key infrastructure in 2015 linking Guiyang to the high speed rail network, the expectation is that Guiyang, with its beautiful natural surroundings and temperate climate, and international standard hospital and supporting functions will lend itself to becoming one of the prime wellness living, healing and medical centers of excellence in P.R.China. Strategic pre-contract Commercial Management services were provided for the hospital.
