Client: Wharfside Regeneration
Project Value: £65,000,000
Location: Ipswich, Norwich, UK
Development Management, Project Management, and later in the project Cost Management Services were provided for this £65million waterside mixed use residential development close to the centre of Ipswich, Norwich.
Wharfside Regeneration’s development proposals were chosen by the East of England Development Agency (EEDA), for the redevelopment of three sites formerly owned and occupied by Allied Mills, located within the Ipswich Waterfront area, to deliver Ipswich City Council and EEDA’s ambition of creating a high density mixed use development that would become ‘a flagship for rejuvenation’ on Ipswich Waterfront.
The Cranfield Mill buildings provided an integrated mix of high density residential, commercial, retail, restaurant and dance studios, all around a new central courtyard which itself incorporated a sunken outdoor amphitheatre, allowing the dance studio to be ‘in the round’ such that performances may be viewed both inside and outside by the public.
The two separate ‘island sites’ provided room for an 80-bed hotel, car parking, affordable residential units and artist studios and workshops.
